Meet Michleen
Michleen Power Elliott (Co-Treasurer / Membership Duties)
Tell us a bit about yourself:
Hey everyone! I am in the role of co-treasurer/membership on the newly formed School Psych SIC. My office base is in Clarenville but I take in schools all the way to beautiful Bonavista and Port Rexton. I live in Clarenville with my partner (Mark), our two wonderful children (now young adults), our Labrador Retriever (Jasper) and our cat (Darwin).
I love animals and nature. I love camping and campfires. I love traveling and spending time on the Internet.
Why did you decide to become a School Psychologist?
Students. I always have a student-centered approach and try to view every decision and conversation through a student-centered lens.
What do you love about being a School Psychologist?
Getting to wear cool t-shirts (follow me on Twitter hahaha). And I love assessment!
Resources you love and want to share:
Jack Naglieri
(He is one of the folks who helped develop the CEFI-and I love the CEFI! Check out some of the Executive Function (EF) resources on his webpage).

Some great strategies for teaching EF in the classroom (goes along nicely with the CEFI. This site is supported by Jack Naglieri, CEFI developer).
A favorite quote/affirmation/mantra/saying:
“Be the person your dog thinks you are.”
